Giant Vulbor

The discard Cleaner Upper

Giant Vulbor, the cleaner upper of discard decks. Why? Because of his power. His ability to discard cards or remove energy for a cheap price is very good.

For example, if you are playing a discard Cald deck. You and your opponent are down to there last Magi. You have out Sinder. Your opponent has one creature in play and a lot of energy on his magi. You play a Heat Lens and a Gaint Vulbor. You use heat lens to knock out a card form your opponent's hand. Being that you have been mercylessly pounding your opponents hand with Vulbor, Heat Lens, Orish(maybe), Epik(maybe), your opponent probably has about 1 or 2 cards in his hand. Seeing this you take your Giant Vulbor and Mind Shock the one creature in play now having 1 or 2 cards in your hand, as your opponent, you can do one of 3 things, either a) You only have one card in your hand so you watch your helpless little creatures mind shake back and forth continously, b) You have 2 cards in your hand so you discard them to save your poor creature, or c) you have 2 cards in your hand but they are cards you really need so you let your poor defensless creature's mind get picked at by a G. Vulbor, CREATURE ABUSER! Hehe... Your opponent will most likly choose c), if they have two sense left in there head from all those mind boggling Mind Shocks. You can now use Sinders power to pump G. Vulbor back up to full. Your Magi just paid 1 energy to severly weaken or kill one of your opponent's creatures. Next turn you can do the same thing then attack the magi(That is if the creature isn't a Collosussm, Ormagon ect) with a full energy Giant Vulbor. Your opponent has a 2, or 3 cards in his hand a weakened magi and no creatures(if they didn't play any during his/her turn). And your Magi only paid a total of 10 energy to do all this(including playing G. Vulbor and using Heat Lens). This can also work with Tryn, Gar, Fossik, maybe even Pruitt.

This is part of the reason why G. Vulbors are never left out of Discard decks. They are sometimes even considered more important in discard decks than the Vulbor itself. So when building a discard deck always make sure to include 3 Giant Vulbor. Oh yeah, BTW another + to G. Vulbor is he is a uncommon, unlike his rare relitive Vulbor.
